Vintage Burr Oak Plinth

This is one of my favourite things I have bought recently but it will be marmite I'm sure, you will either love it or hate it. 

It's a slab of burr wood which is rounded growth on a tree caused by the grain growing around a foreign object, virus or fungus infection which sounds gross but actually produces beautiful knot formations. This slab has a great patina and is mounted on little rubber feet. 

It's absolutely perfect plinth for coffee tables displays.

I love it!

Measures 43cm diameter at widest x 5.5cm high.
